The peroidic table consists of seven horizontal rows called periods.
First period consists of two elements only. Which are hydrogen and helium.this is called short period.
Second and third periods:
Second and third periods consist of eight elements .These are called normal periods. Second period consists of lithium; beryllium;boron ; carbon; nitrogen; oxygen; flourine and ends at neon called noble gas.
Fourth and fifth periods:
These are called long periods.each of them consists of eighteen elements.
Sixth and Seventh periods:
These are called very long periods.In these periods after atomic number 57 and 89, two series of fourteen elements were arranged. Because of space problem these two series were placed separately below the normal periodic table.
